chaturanga workshop

chaturanga dandasana…it is cued in so many  classes, but the intricacies are often passed over as you exhale into it and inhale into your backbend. this 75 minute workshop will break down everything you need to know to practice chaturanga with confidence. you will learn variations and other options for those days where you just need an alternative, how to reduce the risk of injuries, and common transitions (and their alternatives) to and from chaturanga in a flow practice. whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you will leave with an understanding of the benefits of this pose and how to practice it in a way that serves your practice and honors your body.

all levels are welcome. this workshop is not heated. please bring a mat and water and wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in.

Swifties and pilates lovers unite! Join us for a 45 minute pilates class set to music by Taylor Swift. This class is not heated and is appropriate for ages 8 and up. All levels are welcome, no previous pilates or fitness experience required. Regular class passes and drop in rates apply.

exploring ayurveda

Ayurveda is the world's oldest health system. This nature based way of life is rooted in the elements, and can provide wellness and balance to anyone's life. In this workshop, you will learn about your individual mind/body type, which are often referred to as doshas, as well as how to keep them in balance. We will also discuss the benefits of a daily routine (dinacharya), how your yoga practice is related to Ayurveda, food as medicine, and how even just a few small changes can facilitate profound healing.

Plan to bring a mat or blanket to sit on. Some bolsters will be available for use.

yoga for beginners

New to yoga? We all have to start somewhere! Join Elyse Perry for a 4 week series focused on the basics of Vinyasa style yoga. You will learn foundational poses and their variations, transitions, proper alignment, injury prevention, breathing techniques, and more! After this series, you will feel more comfortable and confident in public classes. Class will be gently heated to 75-78 degrees.

Since this is a series, drop ins are not offered.  

Please bring a mat and water.

Get ready to rest and digest! In this 90 minute practice, Julie will lead you through a yin practice focused on releasing stress followed by yoga nidra. Yoga nidra is 'yogic sleep' that restores your nervous system and body back to harmony. You will leave feeling more open, clear, and calm yet energized.

Participants should plan to bring water, a mat, and a blanket if desired.

Beer + Yoga is back in July! Join Julie at High Water Brewing’s taproom for some good vibes and delicious beer on Sunday, July 18th at 11am. Tickets are $20. Your ticket includes a beer of choice (on tap), and a 60 minute all levels yoga class that is sure to leave you feeling grounded and ready to tackle the week ahead.

Class will be held indoors at the taproom, so please dress in layers since AC can sometimes be chilly, and we may work up a little sweat. Please bring water, and a yoga mat/towel to practice on. Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in.

Yamas + Niyamas • A Workshop

The Yamas and Niyamas are foundational yogic teachings that help us to understand the world around us and how we fit into it. The times we are living in are uncertain, and we are all managing complex emotions as a collective as well as personally. Spend a Sunday afternoon diving into these two limbs of yoga and their philosophies with me!

The Yamas ask us to connect to the world and our community from an ethical place, and are defined as: non-violence, non-stealing, truthfulness, moderation of the senses, non-greed, and non-possessiveness. 

The Niyamas as us to explore the relationship that we have with ourselves, and are defined as purity, contentment, self discipline, self study, and surrender.

The cost for this workshop is $30/person, and is offered both in person and virtually (includes access to the recording, which does not expire!) and a workbook with journaling prompts and more. This workshop will include theory/discussion, journaling, group discussion, breath work, meditation, and personal reflection.

Open Your Heart To Serenity - A One Day Retreat

Create space for love and acceptance.

Join Julie and Janalle on a journey through the heart. This one day retreat held at the beautiful Bare Ranch is just what you need to break free and reconnect to yourself. We will work to restore harmony to the heart chakra through yoga, meditation, breath work, and journaling. Our time together will end with yoga nidra and a cacao ceremony.

Cost is $100/person. Retreat is held from 9am - 4:30pm at Bare Ranch (19877 Davis Road, Lodi). Lunch is included. All participants will need to bring a yoga mat, a blanket or towel for beneath your mat, water, and a journal/pen.
